The Letsche School Apartments project involved transforming and rehabilitating a 117-year-old elementary school in Pittsburgh’s Hill District into a mixed-income multifamily community, alongside the new construction of a four-unit townhouse building. This development was partially funded through 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to promote housing affordability and Historic Tax Credits (HTC) to preserve key architectural elements, including original hallways featuring classic school lockers.
The community offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as three-bedroom townhomes, providing both affordable and market-rate housing options. Residents benefit from amenities such as a fitness center, playground, and community room. Each unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, vinyl plank flooring, and central heating and air conditioning.
