The Residences at Washington Trust project involved renovating the historic Washington Trust building, including repurposing its ten-story annex into 24 affordable rental units. Exterior work focused on meeting National Park Service standards, including masonry, limestone, and terracotta restoration. New double-glazed, argon-filled aluminum windows were installed on floors 2-10, while the original historic windows and doors were preserved on the first and ground floors. Inside, efforts were made to salvage the existing terrazzo flooring. The project was designed to meet strict environmental criteria, including Enterprise Green Communities, Energy Star Multi-Family High-Rise, and PHFA’s Green Building standards.
