The North Side of Pittsburgh holds a special place in the heart of Mistick Construction, serving as both our headquarters and the long-time residence of our Owner & CEO, Bob Mistick. Bob's deep-rooted connection to the community has fueled his enduring goal to see it thrive. Throughout four phases of construction, the landscape of the North Side has undergone remarkable change.
The initial three phases of construction focused on comprehensive revitalization efforts, involving the renovation of 265 neglected and vacant properties across the area into modern, affordable housing units. As of now, the first two phases are successfully completed, boasting a total of 197 fully occupied units. The third phase, comprising 68 units, was completed in 2022.
Phase IV, also referred to as Cal-Bride, is prominently located at the intersection of California and Kirkbride Streets. This phase introduced a new dimension to the project with the construction of a four-story, 30-unit apartment building featuring a community center, conference room, and lounge facilities. Additionally, six duplexes were built along Sedgwick Street and Kunkle Avenue, offering three and four-bedroom units. Notably, these residences are designed to accommodate tenants across various income levels, with five apartments priced at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI), 20 units at or below 50% AMI, and 17 units at or below 60% AMI.
Collectively, these four phases culminated in the realization of the North Side Residences—an extensive project encompassing 307 units.
