New Granada Square is a newly built five-story affordable housing complex in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. It features four stories of wood-framed residential units above a one-story steel and concrete podium that houses commercial and community spaces. The complex includes 4 fully accessible units and 1 designed for individuals with hearing or visual impairments. Each unit is equipped with a full-size kitchen, including a refrigerator and range, and comes with a washer and dryer. The exterior is a mix of materials like brick, metal paneling, fiber cement paneling, cast stone, colored concrete masonry units (cmu), fiberglass windows, and aluminum storefront. The project was developed using Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and was constructed in a tight urban setting surrounded by existing buildings.
